Downtown San Diego Skyline at nightSan Diego is often called “America’s Finest City”.

Blessed with a near perfect climate year-around, San Diego is located on the coast, just a half-hour north of the US-Mexico border and on the southern end of the the Southern California Bight.

Temperate, fertile coastal waters and plentiful bait means apex predators like Mako sharks frequent these waters most months of the year. Many biologists believe that the Southern California Bight is one of the main breeding areas for Shortfin Makos. This means a constant supply of “small”, fly-sized fish in the 150 lb or less range, as well as large adult fish. Perfect for our guided Mako shark trips!

Our base of operations is Dana Landing in Mission Bay, (also see this map) which is centrally located to a number of other attractions: the world-famous San Diego Zoo, the original Sea World, the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, and the surf and sand of Pacific Beach. It’s a perfect location for a family-oriented holiday.

San Diego is serviced by all major airlines, Amtrak, and is just a short drive from Los Angeles and Orange County. Accommodations are available in a wide range of prices and levels of luxury, from basic motels, all the way up to 5-star resorts. The same can be said for dining options: enjoy a quick burrito at the world-famous El Indio off Washington Street, or an elegant dinner at the Marine Room in La Jolla. It’s all here!
